Is there a good way to introduce CPAP therapy to my kids?
Here are some ideas for talking to your kids. Try sitting them down and showing them your mask, device and tubing. This can be done early in your therapy so they can touch everything and maybe even watch you put everything on. This might help your kids recognize the therapy components are nothing to be scared of, which can quickly help them adapt to the new situation.
Try to make it fun. After showing your kids all the pieces, maybe have them name the device or let them decorate it. Including your kids in the process may help them realize there is nothing to be afraid of.
Remember, you’re doing this so you can have the energy to play with them and enjoy watching them grow up. Having them on board and a part of the process is a great way to make it a group effort and an easier transition.
